Hebei Iron & Steel Group Co Ltd plans to achieve crude steel production of 46 million tons with operating revenue of 250 billion yuan ($39.56 billion) in 2012, the company said yesterday.

The company recorded operating revenue of 227 billion yuan with profit reaching 4 billion yuan this year.

Its steel production was 44.78 million tons.

It said it has made efforts to increase the pace of mine integration, construction and resource exploitation this year.

Some observers believe 2012 will be a difficult year for the company as demand is likely to fall.
