China, the world's largest wind power producer, will see its installed wind power capacity which is already connected to the power grid reach 45 gigawatts (GW) by the end of this year, according to figures from the National Wind Power Information Management Center.
The figure reflected an increase of more than 14 gigawatts or 45% from a year earlier, said the center.
In 2010, China's installed wind power capacity surged 82% year on year to 31 gigawatts.
In the first ten months of this year, the output of electricity from China's wind farms jumped 56.9% year on year to 58.3 terawatt hours (TWh), accounting for 1.5% of the country's total electricity output, according to statistics released by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
As of the end of August this year, there were 486 wind farms in operation in 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China.
